Tottenham Hotspur Striker Jermain Defoe will certainly be out for ten days because of a muscle injury.
Defoe will miss the first game of the Europa League quarter-final, while Spurs will play against Basel on Friday, and Sunday's game against Everton in the EPL.
"Jermain muscle injury that will likely make him miss the next two games and possibly away to Basel (second leg on 11 April)," said Villas-Boas.
"If he does not take the game away to Basel, he should have recovered in a week when we were preparing to play against Manchester City."
"This is a big problem. Was happening in the muscles where it had a little tear in the last month, but now it's happening on the other side. This is a big loss because he has shown the quality of awesome this season."
