Real Madrid coach, Jose Mourinho, said he was satisfied with the performance of goalkeeper Diego Lopez so far. According to him, if it is always consistently perform at the level of performance this time, Lopez will be hard to replace.
Lopez brought in Madrid from Sevilla in January 2013. He was recruited because the main goalkeeper Iker Casillas, suffered an injury to his hand. Since then, he has played eight times in the Liga BBVA and eight times in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, according to reports in Spain, Casillas had healed and only need to increase the level of match fitness up to standard. Some people were wondering about whether Casillas can simply get his position back.
"I can not say that a player is sure to be a starter by the end of the season. All I can say is that he performed very well. He has done remarkable rescue and been through some very tough match, for example, against Manchester United and Barcelona," said Mourinho.
"In football, we should try to be honest to ourselves and to our players. If Diego Lopez continues like this, it would be difficult to replace him," he continued.
About Casillas, Mourinho said, "He will not be in the squad until the match against Levante (6/4)."
