Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson blamed his team's poor defense when a 4-3 win over host Reading in the Premier League continued on Sunday (2/12) early morning hrs.
Seven goals occurred in the first half, as a new record in the Premier League this season.
It Robson-Kanu took Reading ahead, but goals can be pursued through Anderson and Wayne Rooney. The hosts regained the lead through Adam Le Fondre and Sean Morrison, but again could be pursued through a penalty kick Rooney and Robin van Persie action. Dutch striker sealed the win for the Red Devils.
Ferguson admitted upset with his team's performance in the defense sector. He even refers to it as the worst defense this season.
"It's hard to fight us. Undoubtedly, this is the worst defense this season. Losing three goals that way. We had to do something [to deal with]," said Ferguson told BBC Sport.
"We need to address the situation at all times. Luckily we have players who can do that. I think [the performance] Wayne today, in the first half, was incredible. Both he and van Persie and Ashley Young to be a threat to them [Reading ] at every opportunity. "
"We need to see what the problem is or we will return battered. We deserved 'pounded' today. But, we finally can score a lot of goals to secure the points."
United still topped the standings League moved at three points clear of Manchester City, who in the previous game only drew 1-1 with Everton at Etihad Stadium.
